Model Portfolio – Ballet dancer

Model portfolio Chester - Ballet dancers shoes

Model portfolios are a great way of keeping myself in a creative mood whilst the weather doesn’t allow for a great many location based shoots. A while back I was approached by the lovely Stephanie to photograph some new images for her portfolio. Stephanie is an accomplished professional dancer who has been trained in multiple disciplines of dance including ballet, street and jazz. In fact Stephanie has been training in ballet since she was only four years old!

In order to provide a great mix of shots for her portfolio, we agreed to put together a couple of different themes for the shoot: ballet and the musical Chicago. Working with one of my regular make-up artists Kylie Jonkman, who did a great job, as usual, we also included some beauty head-shots too.

Joe Photo weddings – Course at the SWPP conference

Birde and groom embrace in front of lake with swans

Over the past three years I’ve been fortunate to be able to attend the annual SWPP convention in London. Whilst the convention gives an opportunity to mix with my follow photographic professionals, there are a growing number of location based shoots being organised in the days before the convention kicks off properly.

These shoots give the opportunity to watch and work alongside some of the worlds most successful wedding and portrait photographers, in some fabulous locations. This year I had the time to fit two of those shoots in, Boudoir with Joe Cogliandro and a wedding photography shoot with Joe Photo.

Joe is based in California, but was over in the UK for his second SWPP convention. This shoot was at the sister hotel to Hotel 41, the Milestone Hotel. The opportunity to shoot in the suite of another 5 star boutique London hotel wasn’t to be missed. As you can see the venue was beautiful and they are known for the afternoon tea they serve in their wood panelled lounge.

It was another great day and I’d like to thank Joe, the SWPP and the models for giving their time to run the course.
